Sambaqui
Project developed for Designing For Impact class at Aprender Design | 2024

This project addresses the issue of underutilized compost at Sambaqui Hostel in Ilhabela, Brazil. It aims to create an awareness campaign highlighting the importance and benefits of composting while promoting the utilization of organic materials.
Scope: Naming & Identity, Illustration and Copy
The logo concept aims to capture the relaxed essence of the beach environment by
incorporating a handwritten typeface for "Cultiva" that complements the existing Sambaqui logo. 
The colour palette was chosen to reflect the colours of the houses in the community
Illustration library: a visual representation of elements found on the island.
"Composta que Dá Samba!" (Compost that Grooves!)
Reference: Mixing composting with the rhythm of Samba (Brazilian music rhythm) and the Hostel’s name.
